Solution: Intel® Z690 chipset-based motherboards may require a BIOS update to boot the 13th Gen Intel® Core™ desktop processors. Intel recommends that you update the BIOS on your Intel 600 Series Chipset-based systems for compatibility before using the 13th Gen Intel® Core™ desktop processors.

Solution: Intel® Adaptive Boost Technology (ABT) is a new feature with 11th Gen Intel® Core™ i9-11900K and i9-11900KF processors that improves gaming performance by opportunistically allowing higher multi-core turbo frequencies. The Intel® 400 Series Chipset is a scalable chipset designed for motherboards that support the 10th Gen and upcoming 11th Gen Intel® Core™ desktop processors. A key component to maintaining this broad compatibility while enabling processor innovations on the platform is the motherboard BIOS.

Solution: Intel® Z490 and H470 chipset-based motherboards may require a BIOS update to boot the upcoming 11th Gen Intel® Core™ desktop processors. Intel recommends that you update the BIOS on your Intel 400 Series Chipset-based systems for compatibility with the upcoming 11th Gen Intel® Core™ desktop processors.

Note: Motherboards based on Intel® B460 or H410 chipsets are not compatible with upcoming 11th Gen Intel® Core™ processors.

Required BIOS Updates for Intel® 400 Series Chipset and Intel® Xeon® W-1300 Workstation Processors

Problem: Intel® W480 chipset-based motherboards may not boot with Intel® Xeon® W-1300 processors.

The Intel® W480 chipset are designed to be compatible with Intel® Xeon® W-1200 and forthcoming Intel® Xeon® W-1300 workstation processors. In addition, 10th Gen and 11th Gen Intel® Core™ desktop processors are also compatible to Intel® W480 chipset boards. One key component to maintaining this broad platform compatibility and enabling processor innovations is the motherboard BIOS.

The Intel® Xeon® W-1300 workstation processors will contain innovations that may require BIOS update to existing Intel® Xeon® W-1300 capable motherboards to boot. Affected configurations are combinations of any Intel® Xeon® W-1300 workstation processor paired with an existing motherboard based on Intel® W480chipset.
